I recently wrote an article to ELLE magazine about my reluctance to turn to natural cosmetics. My makeup bag is filled with serious cosmetics and skincare - products that have been proven effective and that I've seen working time and again. Natural cosmetics to me seemed, well, weak.
As I outlined in the article, my mind has since been turned. I've discovered that natural can also be effective, feel good and fit into my routine without compromises. I haven't turned green altogether, but there are some makeup and skincare brand that I now prefer to use organic.
Tata Harper for premium experience
This to me is the ultimate natural luxury. The packaging itself is so gorgeous I could fill my makeup bag just for the sheer joy of looking at these beauties. The cult product is the cleanser but I actually love the eye cream most. It is so soft and light but still hydrates intensely enough for me to see how the fine lines disappear.
Estelle & Thild for skin loving makeup
The Swedish brand recently launched color cosmetics and they are carrying some seriously note worthy products. The mascaras have claimed prizes and I admit that I myself was very impressed by them but the products that have sneaked into my makeup bag (yes, those fitted compartments) are the powder and and bronzer.
Supermood
This is another Finnish brand that has been around a while but I only discovered it truly after receiving some products for an article I was writing at the time about quality ingredients in skin care products. I have not gone a day since without their One Minute Facelift. I feel refreshed and rejuvenated after applying and always carry this with me even when traveling. I'm seriously considering adding a fitted compartment to the Soederlund makeup bag that would be sized for this miracle serum.
